MLS Re-Entry Draft List Has Few Surprises

MLS released the full list of players that will be available in the December 8 Re-Entry Draft.  The Fire have no players on the list but there are a few names that could fill a need if the team decides that an older MLS veteran option is better than anything else available.

The two names that come to mind are Jimmy Conrad and Juan Pablo Angel.  Former Fire Josh Wolff is also on the list but he struggled to find time in Kansas City this past season and may be no more than a role player at this point.

The Fire will draft seventh in the Re-Entry Draft order.

  • Cory Gibbs would be a start. Good player coming off a bad year, and a center back with experience. I would like that pickup

    Not a bad suggestion.

We have the 7th pick so hopefully someone will fall to us. We need a defender before we find a forward. If Conrad or Gibbs are available then either needs to be picked before JPA. GBS would be kind of interesting also but only if all else is not available.

Dare I say Josh Wolfe? Not sure on how expensive his contract is though

  • In reply to Celt:

Wolfe is done: too old and too expensive . Ciaran O'Brien is young and cheap, and Conrad, who would cost, has a few years left and would be a good addition. GBS is still worth the price of admission although I am fantasying that Sinha is heading for the Fire. Now that would be sweet.

Maybe some one was holding a MLS folder again? We need to get these damn MLS file folders out of Mexico! It's a shame if this is true because I would love to see Sinha in Fire red instead of Toluca Red!
