Ljungberg Still Talking with Fire

According to this MLSsoccer.com article Ljungberg has interest from as many as 12 European teams.  I believe there is some serious interest in Ljungberg's services next year, I just don't think the interest will be at the price he's looking for.  A return to the Fire is still possible if he doesn't find a big deal to his liking.

  • Jose Luis Trejo, Puebla's coach, has confirmed that Conde is indeed leaving Puebla due to family reasons.

  • According to Raza Deportiva, Conde's family is concerned with their security in Mexico after living in the US. Conde's agent is apparently also upset with Puebla and is looking for another club.

  • Hello, I never post but I read all the time and appreciate all of the great information you provide. I read his wife felt Puebla was too dangerous for the family. It sounds as though he may have other offers in the Primera Division - from Atlas and Cruz Azul, but who knows. Why didn't Puebla lock him in earlier? He had his family as his 'out' while he fished for a better deal? If nothing pans out in MX will he come back to the Fire? I don't even know how I feel about it.

    Thanks for the link Jeannie!

If he comes back to MLS, the Fire still own his rights so any move to another MLS team would involve a trade.

In an odd twist according to Raza Deportiva, word at Puebla is that former manager of Puebla, Jose Luis Sanchez Sola reportedly convinced Conde not to sign with Puebla.

  • In reply to JeannieH:

torres and gomez both whilling to come to MLS. Would love to see the fire get at least one.

  • In reply to fire1020:

I think both of those guys have downplayed their interest at the moment. It doesn't sound like we'll see either one in MLS in 2011.

  • In reply to fire1020:

Conde is Not Coming back to Chicago, He will be sigining with Atlas!

  • In reply to fire1020:

Sam Stejskal spoke to Conde's agent and he would not confirm that Conde would not sign with Puebla. "There's too much going on to comment" and he hopes to have the situation resolved by Thursday.
