  • Guess we won't have to wait long for Ristic's MLS debut, he's getting the start over Nyarko. Interesting move.

He had a good week of training and DLC is probably playing a feeling by getting him in right away. Nyarko is healthy as far as I know.

  • In reply to cesba:

Also, Corben Bone is not activated for todays match.

  • Also interesting to note. Krol is not dressed.

  • In reply to cesba:

    Also, no Brian McBride either.

  • In reply to cesba:

only change I would make would have Nyarko over John, but overall one of the better starting line-up.
At least with Husidic and Nyarko on the bench, the less chance Banner will play, probably only on the roster because of injuries in the defense.

  • In reply to cesba:

Nyarko did take a spill in practice on Wednesday which knocked him out early with a slight hip issue but he should be ok.

  • In reply to cesba:

8' RSL with another early corner that Johnson knocks away

  • In reply to cesba:

10' - Ristic tries a throughball to Castillo but he apparently still hasn't figured out the offside rule

  • In reply to cesba:

19' - John with a nice turn but the cross attempt is right at Rimando

  • In reply to cesba:

Why was Nery called ofside if he didn't touch the ball?

  • In reply to cesba:

Looks like the Fire waiting for second half to work hard. John nice shot on goal.

  • In reply to cesba:

22' - John with a blast from distance but the shot is high. He had room and space to tee it up.

  • In reply to cesba:

24' - Findley tries to chip Johnson as the ball takes a bounce over Conde's outstretched attempt.

  • In reply to cesba:

30' - Conde picks up a yellow for a foul on Saborio

  • In reply to cesba:

    CDLC looks confused!

  • In reply to cesba:

32' - Williams tees it up from 22 yards and it's just wide

  • In reply to cesba:

34' - Beckerman chops down Ljungberg and picks up a yellow halting a counter

  • In reply to cesba:

    Ristic doesn't look half bad.

  • In reply to cesba:

lots of tugs and pulls, I wonder when the pushing will start?

  • In reply to cesba:

37' - Ristic with a cross that goes out....will we ever see a Fire player make a far post run on a cross?

  • In reply to cesba:

to bad we can't go to penalty kicks in this one...

  • In reply to Adam25:

probably a good thing considering the Fire's recent history in PK shoot outs

  • In reply to Adam25:

44' - Another ridiculous foul on Conde in the box...penalty kick!

  • In reply to Adam25:

45'+ - Brown picks up a yellow for arguing and now Gonzalez changes it and gives Conde a second yellow and he's gone.

  • In reply to Adam25:

    R u kidding me?

  • In reply to Adam25:

45'+ - Saborio buries the PK and it's 1-0 RSL.

The grab on Grabavoy was unnecessary and just plain dumb. Conde used to be one of the best defenders in the league but he has put the team in another difficult spot for no reason. Ridiculous.

  • In reply to Adam25:

Half Time RSL 1 Fire 0
Yes the second yellow was a weak one and Grabavoy took a total dive but Conde must know better than to even attempt a grab in that position. Gonzalez has been just short of totally imcompetent throughout this match but the Fire continue to shoot themselves in the foot.
Ristic has looked ok. Ljungberg and Pappa have been quiet. So much for the renewed focus and concentration.

  • In reply to cesba:

Conde knew that he got beat on that play. Conde has had a bad season. UGH!!!

  • In reply to cesba:

Ristic has dropped to right back and Nyarko is at right mid. Castillo is the man on top.

  • In reply to Adam25:

this should be a very interesting off-season.

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

Yeah at least 7 players will be waved.

  • In reply to Adam25:

I wonder who we will be protecting?

  • In reply to Adam25:

Nyarko is on for John to start the second half

  • In reply to Adam25:

Easily 7 players no doubt about it.

  • In reply to Adam25:

Gonzales looks lost out there, well out of his league.
Where does the MLS find these officials?
St. Joseph School of the Prepetually Hopeless.
If the MLS wants to be taken seriously by the soccer world,
not only do they need quality players, but qualty officials as well.

  • In reply to Adam25:

GR, What's going on with all these soft back passes in their own end? Were they practicing that during the week?

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

It's been a staple of the attack all year ;)

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

60' - Carr for Ljungberg. Not much from Freddie today.

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

this looks pretty much like what we've seen from chicago all the last month. no working towards a goal, just hoping that one will happen

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

64' - Campos and Gonzales are on for RSL. Saborio and Grabavoy are off.

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

67'- Rictic draws a foul in a dangerous spot and Castillo proceeds to take an awful free kick

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

Turned it off.. tired of seeing nothing but grass on the crosses.. nobody crashes the box.

Would be nice to get some English feed across the bottom of the screen from these SP language stations. No comprende anything but pilota and Conde es muy stupido.

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

    lol!

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

76' - Paulo Jr. for Findley

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

77' - Arauho dosen't waste time and hits the side of the near post after coming in

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

78th minute - someone finally took a shot!

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

78' - Nyarko with a nice run and a shot just wide

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

As we draw closer to another lose and pretty good draft position does anyone have any idea what the conditions were on that conditional draft pick we traded away for Freddie?

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

81' - Careless give away by Castillo leads to a RSL attack where Beckerman forces Johnson into another save

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

banner about to sub in to help keep it a 1-0 loss

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

85' - RSL just misses a chance with two players in front of the net

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

    85' - Banner for Pappa

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

Guess DLC is raising the white flag.

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

seemed like chicago was killing the clock at the end - to preserve the loss?

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

Full Time RSL 1 Fire 0

    A remarkably frustrating season continues.

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

last 4 or 5 games chicago has played pretty much all looked like this one

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

Telefutura camera work is god awful...My eyes were hurting.

  • In reply to longoria3:

i was thinking something was wrong with my tv

  • In reply to longoria3:

What was with mcbride and krol? I don't know what the dire should do. Usually it wouldn't best to keep most of the same Players, but these players are playing so bad.

  • In reply to fire1020:

McBride has been nursing an injury all week which explains why he wasn't dressed.

As for Krol, DLC obviously isn't big on him.

  • In reply to fire1020:

Time to be scouting for the MLS Superdraft....the Fire need somebody like F Will Bruin (Indiana) and/or M/F Ashley McInnes (Tulsa). Bruin is compared to Conor Casey and Brian McBride (1996 version). Ashley Mcinnes is compared to Stuart Holden. Both of those guys would be good for the Fire.

  • In reply to fire1020:

    need some speed on defense

  • In reply to CountChocula:

yes....and a striker who can finish

  • In reply to cesba:

not a striker...a couple of strikers

  • In reply to CountChocula:

They need forwards badly that can attack and finish. Their defenders are fine with Segares, Kinney, Conde, Robinson and Watson-Siriboe for 2011. Little to depth at the forward position. Guys like John, McBride and Carr will not get the job done. They need to play the 4-5-1 formation because their 4-4-2 is terrible with no ball movement.

  • In reply to longoria3:

strikers cant do it alone - need some mids to get forward with them - either to help score or to draw off some of the defense.

basically the fire are playing 1 or 2 vs 5 on the attack.

until CLDC feels comfortable with his back 4, he won't release the mids to help out on the attack

or at least thats the way it seems to me whats going on

  • In reply to fire1020:

Stick a fork in this season, we're done. DLC should give the young players lots of minutes now in game situations so Klopas knows what they need to recover from this dismal season, hopefully some players who give 110% out there instead off this lot. Way too many crosses to no one today. For a team called the Fire, there are sure enough players out with any in their game...This team needs a little heart!

  • In reply to Bumsteer:

    No mas

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

73' - RSL free kick from distance and Johnson saves

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

    74' - Findley botches a counter attack

  • In reply to Mkruk99:

I think Conde is looking to play some where else next year, but the way he's playing who would want him. He's given up more than several goals this season by his stupid play. He hasn't been much of an asset this year.

  • In reply to Adam25:

I can't watch this. Whole western conference going to playoffs while we watch.

  • In reply to Adam25:

Now RSL will push probably get 3 goals in 2nd half. CDLC brings on Carr for John, Banner for Freddy, and Umanzor for Ristic.

  • In reply to Adam25:

that sounds like the surrender has been waved

  • In reply to cesba:

Thats the second ball Seagers let go. Fire passing looks so weak.
