Section 8 on Tour - Philadelphia

The Fire will travel to Philadelphia on September 11 to take on Peter Nowak's Union.  If you've never made a road trip to catch the Fire this might be a good one to make.  Philadelphia's brand new PPL Park is a beautiful stadium and worth the trip just to check the place out.  The match should also be a good one with the young and improving Union hosting the new look Fire.  Nowak wasn't happy with their result in Chicago so I'm sure they'll come out ready to challenge.

Section 8 is planning a road trip to Philly to support the Fire.  More info on tickets and transportation is available at Section 8's site.

I made the trip to Columbus this year on one of the Section 8 buses and I would recommend that every Fire fan should make a road trip at least once.

The trip to Columbus featured two buses.  Sector Latino sang and chanted for almost the entirety of the trip to Ohio, Section 8 grilled burgers and dogs, supporters played a pick up game in the picnic area before the match, and everyone gathered around Jeff Crandall's laptop to watch World Cup matches.

The yellow team won that day but the event was a blast.

Here are some pictures from the Columbus trip.......

  • You guys rock! I'll come out one of these days from Rockford and hang with you fellas! :-)

  • I had been to Cleveland few weeks ago and there is nothing to do. The outside view of the Crew stadium looks very vanilla and no life to it. On the positive note, at least the Columbus Crew almost draw as many people as the Cleveland Indians.

  • I was in Columbus, its an armpit of a town and Crew Stadium looks older than it is and very aluminum. Away matches are great, I went to NY and Columbus this year and had a great time at both matches.
