Mid Week Injury Report - More Problems on D

The Fire's mid week injury report features two new additions.

CHICAGO FIRE -- OUT: DF Dasan Robinson (R hamstring strain); QUESTIONABLE: GK Sean Johnson (mediastinitis)

Robinson will miss the Seattle match due to the hamstring injury suffered in the first half of the Houston game.  It's unclear if Johnson's condition was caused by the collision with Ching and Brown on Houston's first goal.

Carlos De Los Cobos is toying with several options in the back without Robinson and Wilman Conde available on Saturday night.  Steve Kinney will start at right back but the coach is yet undecided on how to utilize the combination of Gonzalo Segares and Krzyzstof at left back and center back.  Kwame Watson-Siriboe is also in the picture.

  • Any word on John Thorrington?

  • In reply to longoria3:

Thorrington is going full throttle in training and should be ready for selection.

  • Nooo! Not Dykstra again. BTW, I'm convinced that in FIFA 11 Sean Johnson is gonna be a beast. Get it done EA, get it done.

  • Looks sort of bad, probably Brown, Krol, Gonzo, and Kinney.
Hope not Winston-Siriboe, who looks confised and has been constantly
beaten by his man, what gives with Umanzor, the coach's must have guy, would probably
be better than W-S on defense.
Starting Dykstra and W-S, looks like a sure loss, maybe lucky for a tie.

  • In reply to lonecoyote:

Umanzor has looked better at left mid than he has at left back. Umanzor can't play center back since he's about half the size of Watson-Siriboe.

  • In reply to lonecoyote:

i agree - KWS has not looked good of late. krol, kinney, gonzo - surely one of those guys would be more reliable at CB even if they don't have the physical presence. this shows how fragile the fire's back 4 really is. CJ is aging, conde is good but unreliable. and KWS is just not ready yet. if one of the fullbacks cannot cover well for it, then if its not too late to find one, they need a solid Center back more than anything right now

    demerit!!!

Sounders lose 2-0 at home to Monterrey

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Fresh off Sam's twitter: Castillo to NOT travel with the team to Seattle due to fitness! On the plus side Sam did say that DLC will spare us from seeing the Dykstra Experience Part Duex, Sean Johnson will be in goal Saturday night!

Any word on whether the Fire will be bringing in anyone else or activating Ristic? I know it's a pipe dream, but I would still love it if there were a way to bring RUN DMB back again!

  • In reply to c0quito18:

    Coquito,
More news from practice will be up shortly, and you need to sign up for the Fire Condidential twitter ;) (Fire Conf)

  • In reply to cesba:

Done, already following. I don't like twitter all that much but news is news.

  • In reply to lonecoyote:

Sounders are going with most of their starters tonight against Monterrey....
Keller, Riley, Ianni, Parke, Gonzalez, Nyassi, Alonso, Sturgis, Fernandez, Montero, Nkufo

  • In reply to lonecoyote:

my god, anyone watch the RSL v cruz azul game? 4 goals from the 88th minute to the end

    crazy stuff to watch

  • In reply to CountChocula:

I watched it....absolutely insane. RSL blew the opportunity to become the first MLS side to win a competitive match in Mexico. Crazy, crazy game!

  • Maybe they could put Banner back on defense, was barely adequate when he played back ther before,
or why not try Lowry on defense, couldn't be any worse than some back there, at least he has some speed, skills, and is a decent passer.
