Dave Greeley Resigns

The Fire announced today that team President Dave Greeley has resigned to "pursue other opportunities".  Greeley will stay on as a consultant until the end of August.

Javier Leon will oversee operations and begin the search for Greeley's replacement.

Greeley has served as President for the last two seasons after also working for six seasons as the Chicago Bears Chief Marketing Officer.

  • That is surprise that he stepped down at this point of the season. They need to hire a guy that can put the Fire on a English affiliate station and better station for the Spanish viewers because I am not a big fan of 1200 AM play by play coverage and distorted signals. They need a marketing genius like John McDonough that will expand the fanbase in Chicago.

  • Could they possibly wrest Peter Wilt from the Red Stars? That would be magical. The trophy case would be bulging.

  • Screw the Dairy Staters, get St. Peter back to Toyota Park and start building a dynasty.

  • Bring back Peter Wilt, this would be popular with long standing Fire fans and would be someone who can connect with the fan base on a face to face level.

  • I vote for Peter Wilt, too.
