Rumors are circulating that the player(s) could be Blanco or Nery Castillo or possibly both.

Is this part of the season ticket plan? On a serious note, Guillermo, do you think this news coupled with the note on Irapuato's website, means that it more than likely is Nery Castillo coming here?
Perhaps this was elaborate ploy by Blanco and his agent to get more money? Or maybe Frankie calling the bluff of the aforementioned?
The Mexican media is often unreliable when it comes to sources and reporting stories and not just hearsay. The announcement will be made tomorrow on the jumbo tron at 8 pm.

they sure have kept a lid on it. i mean, lots of rumors, but no one really seems to know. not been like NYRB with Henry anyways
my gut feeling is its gonna be Blanco tho. i dont know for sure if thats good or bad. i think sure he might help the team at times, tho not sure he can go 90 minutes each week. but i also feel there's gotta be better, younger, more agile players to spend the DP money on and get more out of. or is chicago that unimpressive of a MLS destination for most of these guys?
i guess that while if the bring in Blanco, he will ultimately help somewhat, i dont feel he is the best value for the dollar, and i don't think it will be enough to keep up with the rest of the league

It it is Blanco this is worse than a joke as it raises expectations only to deflate them. He is not a DP and cannot play a full game. If this is the best the front office can do with DP money, they are incompetent and need to go. Blanco's time has passed and I say this as a Blanco fan.
At least it beats the Danny Spiller coming to Chicago rumors.

I think bringing in Nery castillo as DP and Blanco right behind him would be fantastic. Castillo is a solid attacking player/finisher. Blanco would also do well. I believe Blanco can go the full 90 in a game.

Both would be great; I would have a firegasim if we got Castillo, but if Blanco is the best Klopas can do with real money we are screwed. This team is in serious disarray and with only Pappa,Nyarko and Conde as talents.

It's official......Blanco is going to Irapuato. The Fire's DP is NOT Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

I think the safe bet is that the DP will be a Mexican. Given the Superliga double header tomorrow it makes sense to use the event as the backdrop for announcing a Mexican DP.
