  • I'd rather they had a 70% Davies than a 100% Findley. Davies would at least make an impact.

  • I think Bob should of taken Rogers instead of Findley...

  • In reply to Adam25:

I'm not sold on Findley either but I think he was looking for some pace to fill Davies' role.

  • In reply to Adam25:

The one that still puzzles me was Eddie Johnson over Conor Casey.

  • In reply to longoria3:

They both would be home right now anyway.

  • In reply to bert:

I've seen our odds at 66-1 in some places.

I day we head over to Janjo's house and watch The Game of Their Lives in US jerseys while hashing over our brackets. Get out the tacos! I'm actually planning on doing that before the World Cup, though.

  • In reply to patrickhattrick:

    They're Nachos!! :) LOL

I think we are a less organized Greek team. Our hope is to stay somewhat together and hope Donovan can get going on the counter. We need to bring the big boys up for dead balls and corners and nick a goal that way. Let's hope we get out of the groups

  • In reply to longoria3:

Even though both of them won't make the team but at least Casey would had shown a better effort than Eddie Johnson.

  • In reply to longoria3:

I'm generally pleased with the selections but I'm not pleased that Bradley has taken so long with his decisions. Let's face it, the US is not going to overwhelm anyone with the skill level of our team -- not for several years at least. IMO our only chance to get out of the first round would have been to concentrate on developing a nucleus of a team that has played together for some time and that consequently worked well together. Unfortunately we are now down to less than 3 weeks to develop that cohesiveness. The midfield is a case in point -- no surprises in the final selection so why weren't these players playing together for the past year.
Defense is somewhat different due to the injuries but even there, BB should have limited his options much earlier. Forward is the one place where "dithering" was probably the only option.
I hate the term "well organized" but I must say that organization is probably our best option until we are able to develop a larger pool of skilled players but for some reason BB has chosen to dither away the time he had to develop that organization. I am not anti-Bradley but I think that there is something about the national team job that intimidates otherwise good coaches to become ultra-conservative in their decisions and tactics. This is probably why coaches like Bora M are able to be successful -- they fly in make their best decisions and then fly out with no baggage.

Anyway --- Good luck to the R, W, and Bl !!!
