Sunday Musings

Here are some interesting items to look at in the wake of yesterday's misery.

From, Nick Firchau's thoughts....

"On a night of few real surprises in the league, the biggest head-scratcher belongs to Carlos de los Cobos. The Fire coach is suddenly mortal again, thanks to his team's 4-1 flop at Toronto FC.

After weeks of praise for his 4-5-1 formation, de los Cobos opted for a 4-4-2 for the bulk of Saturday's night match. And, wow, did the wheels fall off. Can it really be that grinders like Peter Lowry and Baggio Husidic will define the team's success this season rather than the superstars like Brian McBride and Collins John?  Looks like it could be true."

  • The sounders thing is nice.

  • GR --- how about some comments from DLC!! I would really like to hear his perspective on what went wrong---other than that everybody played poorly

I was waiting for the postgame game show on Saturday on what the players and De Los Cobos had to say. Instead, I got Chris Doran 13 minute rambling about nothing. Poor job on My 50 for not having exclusive coverage. The closest thing to hearing De Los Cobos perspective was a brief sideline interview with Amy Freeze before the 2nd half began. Of course, De Los Cobos comments were the obvious (poor performance and we have to play better).

Thanks--I live in St.Louis so don't have access to any of the Chicago broadcast media.

Your welcome, short passes. Since Montreal became to the 19th franchise to have an MLS team, they are other cities that were mentioned. The list of cities are New York, Miami, Atlanta, St. Louis, San Diego, Las Vegas and Charlotte. Those cities that I mentioned are the finalist to have a chance to become the 20th MLS franchise. Since you live in St. Louis, last year their was a rumor that Cardinals superstar Albert Pujols wants to become a minority owner of an MLS team in St. Louis.

The Fire should of refunded me last Season's tickets...
