Nike revealed the USMNT's white home kits today in New York.  This year's model pays tribute to the 1950 American team that defeated England 1-0 in World Cup competition.

June 12 can't get here soon enough.

Details coming soon on how you can nab one of these by entering our World Cup Bracket pool.

Fire TV Schedule

The Fire announced My50 as their second television broadcast partner today.  Interesting to note that this Saturday's game is now listed as a My50 broadcast.  The My50 games will also include a 30 minute post game show.

  • In reply to FireStingDoug:

The lone goal at home last season was actually ruled an "own goal" by Eduardo Lillingston.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I was trying to set the TIVO for Saturday for the broadcast on Direct Kick. It said the game was being broadcast locally so not available on Direct Kick. But CSN is showing the Sox game. I got nervous until I saw this post.

On an unrelated note, you know the soccer knockers are getting restless because the beautiful game is about to get its quadrennial dose of big publicity for the World Cup. And it's making them nuts and they'll be preparing their insightful screeds. I'd like to see a sampling of what the Jim Romes of the world are saying. I'm sure it will be pathetic.

  • In reply to oliotya:

I'm sure there will be some really intelligent commentary. I'm sure it will be pointed here.

  • In reply to oliotya:

Did anyone see the ESPN The Magazine World Cup Preview? It's literally a giant magazine with nothing but World Cup. Today's my birthday! My uncle gave me that magazine as a present. And I'm going to the fire game with my friends tomorrow night! YES!

  • In reply to patrickhattrick:

That is a nice magazine. ESPN also has a World Cup hardcover book coming out on Tuesday that looks pretty cool.

  • In reply to cesba:

Nothing beats this guy for hyperbolic overcompensation. I think somebody or something hurt this person emotionally when he was a kid.

  • In reply to oliotya:

That has to be a joke.

  • In reply to cesba:

That site is rather old, but it's not a joke. It was created by a soccer-hating creature called Jefferson Glapski. He is a Usenet troll who has too much time on his hands and who likes to rile up soccer fans with his anti-soccer BS. He has been pretty quiet lately, but if you go to on Google Groups and do a search, you will find some real doozies.

  • In reply to cesba:

just don't trust those lineups they list in there.

  • In reply to cesba:

    lets go G.R.,,,,gameday

  • In reply to patrickhattrick:

    Fire 2 Chivas 0
Fire blank the opponent 3 straight weeks by 2-0!
    Go Fire!!!
Those U.S. jerseys look like Miss America pageant gowns! It looks very girlie to me! Would be cool to incorporate the flag with it's stripes. Germany has some nice jerseys, they have had some good designs.
