Everyone's favorite professor (especially a certain soccer scribe on the east coast) Juan Carlos Osorio and Once Caldes defeated winless Nacional 1-0 in Columbia yesterday. The lone goal was scored by midfielder Jhon Valencia, who I'm told is a pretty good player and free kick specialist. Once Caldes currently sits on top of the table and has qualified for Copa Libertadores.
Chris Rolfe came on with 15 minutes remaining in Aalborg's last match against a team with a name I can't pronouce. Rolfe is expected to get the start in the next match against another team with a name I can't pronounce.
I'm sure many of you have seen Bakary Soumare's ridiculous attempt to dribble a ball in his own end which was immediately followed by an embarrasing strip and pursuant red card. Boulogne is deep in the relegation zone in France's Ligue 1. http://videos.sapo.pt/5c1flfOwQA4KK0VNbcIO
Gonzalo Segares and Apollon lost their last match 2-0 although Segares is starting regulary at left back.
David Myrie was waived by Philadelphia after starting the season opener. Peter Nowak is not wasting any time.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Veracruz play CA Hidalgo on Sunday. Veracruz currently sits in 11th place in Mexico's second division. Blanco has scored 3 goals in 10 games for the Tiburones Rojos. Is there any reason to stay and play with an 11th place team past July?
