Pappa scores goal in Guatemala win

*Not sure how I missed this yesterday, but I thought it was worth posting all the same...*

Unlike the rest of his Fire teammates, Marco Pappa had a relatively successful Wednesday. Away from the club due to his call-up to the Guatemalan National Team for Wednesday night's friendly against El Salvador, Pappa played the full 90 in his side's 2-1 victory, scoring a screamer of a goal in the process.

Pappa, who appeared to be playing in the left side of the central midfield, ripped a left-footed rocket from 30+ yards out into the top corner in the 45th minute, giving Guatemala a lead that they never relinquished. New Fire-signee Julio Martinez was called-up to the match for El Salvador but did not see any action.

Check out Pappa's goal in the video below. (His is the first goal shown)

I've inquired about an interview with Frank Klopas so I can briefly discuss the Collins John situation with him. Should an interview go down, I'll be sure to post the results. Stay tuned.

  • Martinez played the full 90 I think, I watched the end of the 1st half and all of the 2nd half and he was in for the entire time. It was hard to tell though since he almost never touched the ball and was a complete non-factor.
