Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Hopefully you have the day off (as I do...) but if not, definitely spend a minute thinking about what Martin Luther King did for the people of this country -- it's a better place because of him.
Secondly, apologies for the delay in posting. I had some stuff that needed to be taken care of this morning and it prevented me from having a piece ready for the early morning. But regardless of what time this is going up, the Fire have new unis! Some of you may have already [checked them out](http://chicago.fire.mlsnet.com/gallery/photogallery.jsp?pathid=201001157922656&vkey=t100) (they were unveiled on Friday after all...) but I wanted to share my thoughts.
Overall, I definitely like the new threads. I really like how the Chicago flag was integrated into the white jersey and I think it's good that they didn't mess with the red shirt too much. That said, that collar thing is just plain weird. Like I don't get it. Very strange to me. For those of you that haven't seen it (and you should stop reading now and click on the link if you haven't...) the collar on both jerseys has a strange patch that extends below the neckline onto the chest. The patch (which is navy on the red jersey and red on the white shirt) simply says "Fire" (which I have no problem with) but it looks a little strange and draws a lot of attention. I've said it about three times in this paragraph already, but it's weird.
Well, I have no other news to share with you all at this minute, but if anything breaks I'll be posting in a *timely* manner so check back throughout the day for updates. One more Public Service Announcement before I leave, if you didn't see, the Gonzalo Segares post was updated with another quote from Gonzalo. It was definitely a good quote so I encourage you to check it out.
