Working on some interviews... (UPDATED)

Hey everybody, I'm working on getting some interviews with Fire personnel scheduled so I will hopefully have some stories up regarding the 'protected list' decisions later on. If the interviews don't work out, don't worry, I'll be back with another post today but the content will be slightly different.

**UPDATE -- I just got off the phone with Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas and I'll have a post regarding the 'protected list' situation up soon.**

Until then, I'll leave you guys with a little poll...

I didn't include Andrew Dykstra or David Myrie on the list as Philadelphia is incredibly unlikely to take a backup goalie or a player with zero minutes played in MLS. Oh and by the way, my vote would go to Mike Banner -- with Peter Lowry and Dan Woolard not very far behind.

  • I would like to hear some of the reasons why people voted for Austin Washington. They can't seriously want that guy on the field at any point. He played too much this season as it is...

Looking at the percentages, it looks like he got 2 votes so far. Probably from Austin and his mother.

here's the weird parts: Calen, who we may actually need next year due to lack of decent players in the forward position, has received 0% so far.
Therefore, Dimitrov has received 6 or so more votes than Carr, despite him being a reserve player at best and Carr actually having played a lot and became dangerous in his first year. Austin Washington(enough said) also received more votes than him.

Caitlin Carr is not a good player. If he is a starter on this team, we will be the NYRB of this season. He is the only player that can trap the ball farther than I can kick it. He isn't even fast anymore. Atleast he had speed before the knee injury. Now he just runs around and doesn't know what he is doing. Dimitrov looked decent when he played for us. Wins head balls and worked hard. If I had to pick between them, it would be Dimitrov and its not close.

Joe, your trippin.. Carr is DEF a good player, Dimitrov is solid but Carr can make shit happen from nothing... those are the type of players we need and thats what the Fire has been about these last few years... I would hate to see Carr,Banner, or Lowry go... PLEASE take Austin Washington off our hands!!!!!
