Hey everybody, I thought I'd share a few links with you all as the weekend slowly comes to a close.
As I mentioned yesterday, the Fire is hosting a FIFA Soccer 10 launch party Monday night at the Hancock Center Best Buy starting at 4. If you go you'll not only get a chance to play the game before it come out on Tuesday but you'll also get a chance to play in a 32-man FIFA tournament and meet Fire players Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Jon Busch, Wilman Conde, Baggio Husidic and Patrick Nyarko.
A pretty wild moment took place in yesterday's Sunderland-Liverpool game, which Sunderland won 1-0. The craziness took place in just the 5th minute of the game, when [a young Liverpool fan hit a red, Liverpool-emblazoned beach ball into the field of play, about 5 yards in front of the Liverpool goal](http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2009/10/17/sports/sports-uk-soccer-england-beachball-fapl.html).
Soon after the ball appeared on the field, Sunderland forward Darren Bent hit a shot -- which looked to be going right at Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina -- that deflected off the beach ball and into the back of the net. Liverpool put up quite a stink after the goal -- and understandably so, the rules state the goal shouldn't have been allowed -- and the goal ended up being the only one of the game. You can check out video of the goal below.
I'll be back on Monday with a full rundown of the MLS playoff situation, so stay tuned for that. I'll catch you all tomorrow.

How'd the launch party go? Good turn out?
I wasn't able to go but I was told by someone with the Fire that it had a great turnout.
