Linked Up

Hey everybody, kind of a slow news day for the Fire (so far anyway…) so I’m taking a little break from writing and simply sharing some links today.  I’ll be back to the grind tomorrow with a Fire Practice Report though, so keep an eye out for that. Steve Davis of ESPN Soccernet writes about... Read more »

The Race for the Supporter's Shield

Looking at the standings after the Fire’s 1-0 loss to D.C. United late Saturday night, I came to the conclusion that any hopes the Fire had of taking the 2009 Supporter’s Shield (the honor given to the league leaders at the end of the regular season) had burned out. The Fire had dropped another 3... Read more »

Fire 0 - D.C. 1: Disappointment for the Fire

Coming off of last Sunday’s thrilling, come from behind 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rapids, the Fire put in a very disappointing performance tonight, [falling to longtime rivals D.C. Fire Practice Report to come later

Hey everyone, I’ll be heading out to the Fire’s training in a few minutes here, so of course I’ll have a full report up later.  It should be live around 1 p.m. so check back around then for the full entry.

It's Finally Official: Soumare transferred to Boulogne

Well after months of rumors and a few days of unofficial reports, [the transfer of the now former Fire Defender Bakary Soumare to Boulogne](http://chicago.fire.mlsnet.com/news/team_news.jsp?ymd=20090826&content_id=6629654&vkey=news_chf&fext=.jsp&team=t100) of the French First Division has finally gone through. Of course, this news is merely a formality at this point — I think we all knew Baky was going to go... Read more »

Blanco named to Mexican roster for qualifiers

Fire midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco has been named to the Mexican National Team roster for its upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica (September 5th) and Honduras (September 9th). Fortunately for the Fire, Blanco won’t miss any MLS games while on international duty — as the qualifiers come during and just after the team’s September 5th... Read more »

A (brief...) Interview with Chris Rolfe

I was able to speak with Fire midfielder/forward Chris Rolfe before Sunday’s game against Colorado. Unfortunately, the interview isn’t as in-depth as I would like (I was only able to speak with Chris for a grand total of three minutes before he headed onto the field to prepare for the game), but I thought I’d...
