Welcome to Fire Confidential!

Hey everyone, welcome to Chicago Fire Confidential.  I'm excited to begin blogging about the Fire and I hope that the site turns into a place where you will come not only for your Chicago Fire news, but also to share your opinion on the Fire and soccer in general.

I want the site to serve as a community for Fire fans, and in order to facilitate that I really want to be accessible to you guys.  So if you ever have an idea, suggestion, or comment about the site (or my writing for that matter) just drop me a line at my e-mail (it's listed in my profile, just click on my name in the byline) or leave a comment.

Also, this site won't be your stereotypical blog.  I plan on getting out and reporting about the Fire.  Whether it's at Fire home games, some practices or anything else, I want to be out there.  I understand that sometimes it's tough to get Fire news and I hope that Fire Confidential can be a source that you can be confident in.

But more than anything, I want Fire Confidential to be a place you can enjoy coming to.  I understand that with Luis moving on I'm filling some big shoes, and the main thing I want to take away from his blog is to make the site a fun place for you to visit.

Take a look below for a sample of some content.  And by all means, feel free to post your thoughts on the past posts.

I hope you enjoy the site, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you and providing a lot of Fire coverage.

-Sam

  • Stan,

Welcome to Fire land. Now get to work!

Will you be covering the Fire for the print version or just blogging here?

We're all a bit disappointed that you are apparently not filling Luis' shoes as a regular reporter covering the team.

Looks like we'll all be stuck with the AP reports for road games.

  • I will be staying primarily on the blog. However, the Tribune may pick up a couple game previews/recaps throughout the season so keep your eyes open for those.

Road games will be tough for me to get to, I hope to get to at least one over the summer though.

  • One thing I would like you NOT to do, and that's the Ivesian bit of asking inane questions at the end of your post, it's annoying as all get out. It's fine once in while if you really want an opinion as to who was MOTM, but please don't do it after every post.

  • Welcome Sam! We loved Luis but I think more than anything we love the information about our club. So if you can get us a little of that you can do whatever else you want by me.

  • welcome sam, have some fun with this site and thanks .
