“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
That is what the second amendment of the constitution says but I guess that does not matter in the society we live in.
Business owner Homer Wright shot a person who was trying rob the bar he owns in Englewood on the city’s southside. Since Wright has a criminal record he was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.
From all accounts, Mr. Wright was a pillar of the community. The bar he owns has been in the community for 40 years.
Where did we go wrong in society when business owners are arrested for protecting themselves and their loved ones?
Why do we let people who do not live in these communities push their moral compass on the rest of us?
Mr. Wright didn't have time to go to a C.A.P.S. meeting or organize a block club meeting like the editor at the Sun-Times suggested. Mr. Wright knew that someone was trying to break in his place of business. He did the best thing he could.
