“The SOTU and Republican Response infomercials are a grand dog-and-pony show aimed at distracting attention from the fact that Democratic and Republican politicians are equally guilty of driving government spending into the stratosphere.
- “Both Democratic and Republican politicians initiated and supported bailouts.
- “Both Democratic and Republican politicians initiated and supported mandates to buy medical insurance imposed on individuals and small businesses.
- “Both Democratic and Republican politicians have voted for a laundry list of new and expanded government programs – keeping taxes high and driving our national debt to staggering sums that defy comprehension.”
That was a quote from Libertarian Party Chairman Mark Hinkle. Frankly, I could not say it any better myself. So I watched parts of the State of the Union address a.k.a Re-election speech a.k.a “Fire up the base” speech. I fell asleep a few times during the speech. Also during the GOP response (I watched it later, just in case anyone wants to be a smart ass). Was I tired?? Yes!! Not from a lack sleep. I was tired from a lack of truth telling by both.
Sometimes I feel like these guys do not treat the American people like adults. Tell us the truth. Maybe the people in Washington are afraid that the people will want heads to roll. Literally. Personally, I am just as pissed at the President for the usual “ Blame Bush and the Republicans are being mean” speech just as I am about the GOP’s constant “Obama is ruining everything” speech. Politics has turned into professional wrestling. Two over grown meatheads yelling at each as they pound their chests showing who is the toughest.
What I saw that night was just as fake as the professional wrestling I watched as a kid. So I urge all of you who read this to do one thing: CONNECT THE DOTS!!!! These people are all on the same team. They may not act like it, but they are. Meanwhile, the rich is laughing all the way to the bank, some of the poor is laughing all the way to the currency exchange, and the middle-class get screwed…from both sides.

Yep, they are all on the same team.
They all want to feed the beast which keeps them alive.
However.. politicians only do this because we as a nation want this, in one way or another. Too many people are now taking too much of the government stash to have it any other way.
It will only change with the collapse of the current ponzi scheme. It won't be pretty.
