Calling all Chicago Parents!
Do you know how we're doing all we can to make sure that our kids' creativity is blossoming? Open Books, one of our city's coolest nonprofits, is doing the same for underprivileged kids all across Chicago. And now they need our help.
Every week, Open Books hosts adventures in creative writing field trips to schools all across Chicagoland. For a few hours, kids get out of their crowded classrooms and enter a whole new space.
The only catch is that Open Books is dependent on volunteers to make these field trips possible. So if you have a few extra hours a month, sign up to become a creative writing coach. You don't have to be a writer to be a great coach. You just have to believe in the power of expression, and the kids will respond in kind.
Please consider helping inspire some kids in need to put their thoughts and feelings into words -- and make more of a difference than you ever thought possible. Click here to find out more and become a volunteer. I plan to sign up today!
