Did you know that if your business moves from Chicago to Kankakee or Channahon, not only will you pay less sales tax, the local government will pay you a portion of the taxes they collect? Well Cook County isn't happy about this.
"Cook County on Monday became the third governmental entity, after the Regional Transportation Authority and the city of Chicago, to file suit against the two outlying towns, alleging wrongful diversion of sales taxes," reports the Chicago Tribune.
In other news, Market Watch reports that "the local chapter of SCORE, one of the leading free business counseling services in the Chicago land area, will join The Chicago Urban League and the Government Partnership for Economic Development in a powerful new initiative to promote jobs creation and opportunities for Chicago African-American small businesses."
And while these two topics are completely relevant to our lives in Chicago, everyone is really talking about iPhone5. The Tribune's Gregory Karp reports on the re-commerce of iphone4 as we all wait for the Apple Press Conference.
