Most people who know me, know that I am not without my quirks. I have some intriguing phobias, that's for sure.
I have four brothers, and when I was younger, they got great thrills from chasing me around the house with frozen trout. Trout. Yes. A fish. I have a phobia of fish.
They are slimy, horrible scaly pieces of ugliness that make me cringe, and my back go weird. Nope. Nope. Nope. I can't look at them. Not even a fish tank. But; I can eat tuna and prawns (shrimp) - although when dining out at the higher end restaurants, I have been known to request that my husband remove the heads of those huge prawns that sit on my starter (appetizer), glaring at me accusingly. Surely at that price tag, the chef would do the hard work for me, but nope - they like to terrorize people like me. Although I haven't heard of anybody else have this phobia.
I can live with my phobia of fish, though. What I really want to get over is my fear of thunderstorms. Last summer, here in Chicago, was crazy. I have never experienced anything like it. The heat causes storms left, right and centre, and I just can't cope with it, it's enough to make me want to hop on the first plane back to the constant drizzle of the UK. Chicago is certainly giving me ample things to bemoan within my writings - namely the weather (it's minus 17 Celsius outside right now, and only going to get worse apparently).
Yikes. Why couldn't the husband have upped his sticks to somewhere nicer weather wise, like, well somewhere the sky doesn't scare the crap out of me...?
Anyway, which fear would you most like to overcome? Answer in the comments, or on my Facebook page, or tweet me. Or... You could answer in your own blog, or vlog? Whatever you do, let me know!
