Misty Callahan kicked off her media career in 2008 when after a brief career as an illustrator she realized that her calling was in sports broadcasting. While she loved football and White Sox baseball, she found that she was drawn to hockey. Her love for the fast-paced sport, coupled with her desire to enter the realm of Chicago media, prompted her to enroll at the Illinois Center for Broadcasting where she became known as “Hockey’s Leading Lady” and graduated with the award for “Most Outstanding Female Broadcast Student.”
Her travels through the broadcast industry landed her a position as a “programming intern” for ESPN 1000’s “Chicago’s Baseball Tonight” as well as “Talkin’ Baseball.” She’s also been featured on WVON 1690 AM’s “Stats & Stilettos” as a guest “hockey expert.” Currently, she produces the “TLO & Batista Show” on Chicagolandsportsradio.com and is the beat reporter for the Great Lakes Hockey League’s Vernon Hills Capitals.
Other than sports, Misty has a passion for exploring Chicago neighborhoods and experiencing the atmosphere of various sports bars around the city. Unfortunately, this love for exploration has also caused her to become a sort of magnet for a multitude of strange people and events. On the bright-side though, she’s happy to share those amusing anecdotes with you!
