Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood: Day 3 Pray Chicago community in focus
On Wednesday, September 7th, I attended an event called Pray Chicago where people of all ages, colors, and denominations joined together with one focus, and that is to pray for the city of Chicago. It was a powerful, heart stirring event.  Afterwards, participants had the opportunity to sign up to pray for all 77 neighborhoods... Read more »

Pray Chicago event at Moody Bible Institute, just what our city needs

Pray Chicago event at Moody Bible Institute, just what our city needs
Last night, I attended Pray Chicago along with a host of other Christians, all coming together to pray for peace and unity for the City of Chicago.  Not once was there a mention of any campaign that singled out one race over another because last night there was only one focus: humanity mattered. We prayed... Read more »

WGN TV's "Violent August in Chicago" video

Thumbnail image for 'WGN TV's "Violent August in Chicago" video '
I rarely watch the news, not because I want to be uninformed or that I am unconcerned, but simply because I just can not take all of the reports of the violence in Chicago.  It’s not that I don’t care or want to be unaware, but what exactly are we supposed to do with all... Read more »

Can mountains really move? They can through prayer!

Can mountains really move? They can through prayer!
Have you ever felt like there was a mountain in front of you that there was no way possible you could get around or over it? Have you ever prayed so hard about something, not knowing how you would make it through? I have time and time again. Most often people relate this experience to finances,... Read more »

Black people are making me sick
I am sorry to say it. And I feel bad having to write these words. But I must let it out. I can’t take it anymore. I have to get it out because I can’t take it! Black people are making me sick! Okay, let me clarify this because I know these are powerful words coming... Read more »

We all know how it goes: “Amazing grace. How sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost.... Read more »

I Don't Know The Man in the Mirror

I Don't Know The Man in the Mirror
I stand there smiling and encouraging my class participants week after week, but yesterday I learned that I really don’t know the man in the mirror who often looks back at me. It was a day just like any other where I was rushing to hurry up and relax as is the custom for many group fitness instructors.... Read more »

    Elana Anthony

I am a wife and mother blessed to have six daughters who fill my home with love and laughter. My passion is writing and teaching, but most especially inspiring people to live healthy lives in my faith-filled fitness classes. My dream is to have my own faith and fitness TV show where people from all the world collectively join together on our "temple" building project of enjoying optimal health. I am a certified group fitness instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and earned graduate degrees in Writing from DePaul University, in addition to a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania. I have seen and experienced the hand of God work and move in my life, and consider it an honor and blessing to be saved to serve.
