The struggle and expense of eating clean

The struggle and expense of eating clean
I never thought being healthy would be as challenging as lifting weights or running a marathon, but I have come to see that it’s hard, and there is a struggle and expense to eating clean. And I must confess: I struggle with eating the right things. I exercise at least five times a week.... Read more »

Heal your heart, practice forgiveness

Heal your heart, practice forgiveness
Recently a dear friend betrayed me by creating all kinds of chaos, drama, and distrust within my family.  As a mom of six daughters, that’s not too difficult to do with our feelings as fragile and frayed as our skirts and dresses. A peaceful, pleasant, family occasion turned ugly with people using “fighting words” which,... Read more »

Faith and fitness, the perfect blend

Faith and fitness, the perfect blend
You can train the body, and you can do exercises for your mind. But, what I’ve found is that faith and fitness is the perfect blend. I am a wife and mother blessed to have six daughters who fill my home with love and laughter. My passion is writing and teaching, but most especially inspiring people to live healthy lives in my faith-filled fitness classes. My dream is to have my own faith and fitness TV show where people from all the world collectively join together on our "temple" building project of enjoying optimal health. I am a certified group fitness instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and earned graduate degrees in Writing from DePaul University, in addition to a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania. The Salvation Army Kroc Center is my church home where I not only teach Adult Sunday school classes, but I also sing on my church's Praise Team alongside my daughters, under the direction of my husband who is our leader. I have seen and experienced the hand of God work and move in my life, and consider it an honor and blessing to be saved to serve.
