My Tribute to Iconic African American Vegans and Vegetarians for Black History Month

My Tribute to Iconic African American Vegans and Vegetarians for Black History Month
Six months ago, my husband and I decided together that we would adopt a vegan lifestyle, much to our surprise. You can read how that happened here. Since then, our lives have changed dramatically. He lost 40lbs in a little over a month and I had my energy levels skyrocket beyond anything I’ve ever experienced.... Read more »

The #metoo movement and Black history month, my story

The #metoo movement and Black history month, my story
I have been silent, waiting on the right day and time to speak out and decided today, enough is enough. In honor of the first day of Black History Month, today I break my silence. There’s so much I want to say about this but still stifled because all of my legal ducks are not... Read more »

You get off my back about St. Patrick's Day and I'll leave you alone about Black History Month

You get off my back about St. Patrick's Day and I'll leave you alone about Black History Month
Last year I wrote what I thought was a whimsically fun blog about St. Patrick’s Day. To be honest, I actually didn’t even remember I’d written the blog until I was notified via email that someone posted a comment to the blog, and it was from a real live actual person, and it wasn’t Spam.... Say it ain't so! Jackie Robinson West Little League team stripped of title
I almost spit out my coffee when I heard the news report. But it’s true. The 2014 Little League World Series Champions, Chicago’s own Jackie Robinson West little league baseball team, has been stripped of its title. Apparently it didn’t take much for this to come out. There were players who didn’t live in the... Read more »

It's black history month, and I can't help but wonder, would our ancestors be proud?

It's black history month, and I can't help but wonder, would our ancestors be proud?
This past weekend’s awards shows really put a lot on my mind. In one weekend, we had the 46th Annual NAACP awards and the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Call me a lame, but I didn’t watch the Grammys. My four daughters did though. And I could hear them cheering and singing along with today’s music icons.... Read more »

    Elana Anthony

I am a wife and mother blessed to have six daughters who fill my home with love and laughter. My passion is writing and teaching, but most especially inspiring people to live healthy lives in my faith-filled fitness classes. My dream is to have my own faith and fitness TV show where people from all the world collectively join together on our "temple" building project of enjoying optimal health. I am a certified group fitness instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and earned graduate degrees in Writing from DePaul University, in addition to a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania. I have seen and experienced the hand of God work and move in my life, and consider it an honor and blessing to be saved to serve.
