Surviving the R. Kelly Docuseries' Comments on Social Media

Surviving the R. Kelly Docuseries' Comments on Social Media
I wish everybody would just shut up about R. Kelly! I know people are entitled to their freedom of speech, as am I, which is why I am speaking out publicly, for once and for all, about how I was abused by my mother’s boyfriend when I was 14 years old. He was 27. She... Read more »

International Women's Day, #PressforProgress

International Women's Day, #PressforProgress
Today is International Women’s Day, a day we #PressforProgress. As I read stories of inspiring women who are trailblazers an hold a variety of positions as successful business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs– as well as a host of other responsibilities–I am inspired by our progress and potential, and yet eerily reminded of my untimely termination... My Tribute to Iconic African American Vegans and Vegetarians for Black History Month
Six months ago, my husband and I decided together that we would adopt a vegan lifestyle, much to our surprise. You can read how that happened here. Since then, our lives have changed dramatically. He lost 40lbs in a little over a month and I had my energy levels skyrocket beyond anything I’ve ever experienced.... Read more »

The #metoo movement and Black history month, my story

The #metoo movement and Black history month, my story
I have been silent, waiting on the right day and time to speak out and decided today, enough is enough. In honor of the first day of Black History Month, today I break my silence. There’s so much I want to say about this but still stifled because all of my legal ducks are not... Read more »

Today, U.S. News writer and certified strength and conditioning coach K. When blogging gets scary: my bout with the bullies who plagiarized my work

When blogging gets scary: my bout with the bullies who plagiarized my work
I enjoy blogging and often criticize myself for not blogging often and frequently enough. Between managing my household and family of daughters plus my husband and my mom who recently moved in with us, in addition to being a fitness instructor and a network marketer, I often lament about there not being enough hours in... Someone stole content from my blog, plagiarism is real!

Someone stole content from my blog, plagiarism is real!
Someone, well specifically, Chris Ford, a “writer” for a magazine supposedly for veterans, took it upon himself to take about 98% of my blog that I published May 2015 and just basically switched a word or two, and then published it as his own. Really? What was he thinking? It’s interesting because I had no idea this happened,... Read more »

Joliet baby found stuffed in the couch of her home
This story about Semaj Crosby is one of a gazillion reasons I hate watching the news.  I sit there watching, mortified and stupefied by the outcome of many tragic stories just like this one about the Joliet baby found today.  Then without even realizing it or trying, I begin to judge the people involved because you can’t... Pray Chicago event at Moody Bible Institute, just what our city needs
Last night, I attended Pray Chicago along with a host of other Christians, all coming together to pray for peace and unity for the City of Chicago.  Not once was there a mention of any campaign that singled out one race over another because last night there was only one focus: humanity mattered. We prayed... Read more »

    Elana Anthony

I am a wife and mother blessed to have six daughters who fill my home with love and laughter. My passion is writing and teaching, but most especially inspiring people to live healthy lives in my faith-filled fitness classes. My dream is to have my own faith and fitness TV show where people from all the world collectively join together on our "temple" building project of enjoying optimal health. I am a certified group fitness instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and earned graduate degrees in Writing from DePaul University, in addition to a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania. I have seen and experienced the hand of God work and move in my life, and consider it an honor and blessing to be saved to serve.
