Healing from homosexuality and promiscuity, there is still hope

Healing from homosexuality and promiscuity, there is still hope
Today, like Alice, I fell down the proverbial “rabbit hole,” but it was no glorious Wonderland experience. I hadn’t planned on it. I was online searching for lyrics to a gospel song by Darwin Hobbs to prepare for our Monday night Praise Team rehearsal.  Instead, I ended up finding videos of Hobbs where he was... Read more »

Willie Wilson and his "Whitey" remark--I tried to warn you!

Willie Wilson and his "Whitey" remark--I tried to warn you!
It was exactly one week ago that I was inspired to write Willie Wilson an open letter to try to prevent something like this from happening. But it’s done now. What we feared, he’s done. He’s shown he’s not ready for public office. Those who were courageous enough to speak out days ago knew this... Read more »

F.I.T. in the Lord with faith-inspired training

F.I.T. in the Lord with faith-inspired training
I’ve learned the secret to being healthy and that is: when you F.I.T. in the Lord with faith-inspired training,  you become healthy from the inside out. There is an old expression that simply states, “Live as if you will die tomorrow, but plan as if you will live forever!” How do you do this? By investing... Read more »

Hallelujah for Halloween

Hallelujah for Halloween
I love Autumn, and it’s actually my most wonderful time of the year, because I get to say “Hallelujah for Halloween!” There’s just something about back to school season with school buses, bustling kids and fall foliage that just makes me feel renewed and refreshed. I love the changing of the leaves, the crispness of... Read more »

Positioned to Prosper in 2014

Positioned to Prosper in 2014
I am planning now to be positioned to prosper in 2014. I’m not waiting until January to make a bunch of resolutions for things I can change today. I’ve spent eons of wasted time about-to-be, getting-ready-to, sho’nuff-fin’na change my life. There’s no time like the present and I’m using each and every day to get one... Read more »

Trained by hardship and discipline

Trained by hardship and discipline
As someone who’s done all kinds of fitness workouts and routines, nothing has been more difficult and beneficial than being trained by hardship and discipline. It’s not an actual workout anyone sets out to do either. At least I didn’t. I literally stumbled upon it in my Christian walk–pun intended. I, like many others, thought... Read more »

    Elana Anthony

I am a wife and mother blessed to have six daughters who fill my home with love and laughter. My passion is writing and teaching, but most especially inspiring people to live healthy lives in my faith-filled fitness classes. My dream is to have my own faith and fitness TV show where people from all the world collectively join together on our "temple" building project of enjoying optimal health. I am a certified group fitness instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and earned graduate degrees in Writing from DePaul University, in addition to a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania. The Salvation Army Kroc Center is my church home where I not only teach Adult Sunday school classes, but I also sing on my church's Praise Team alongside my daughters, under the direction of my husband who is our leader. I have seen and experienced the hand of God work and move in my life, and consider it an honor and blessing to be saved to serve.
