I never thought I'd be a fitness instructor and writer, although it certainly makes sense to me now. As a mother of six daughters (two adults, two teens, and twin six yr. olds), and someone whose overcome many health challenges, I know what it feels like to have your body be anything other than what you would like to see in the mirror. I have been across every spectrum from being thin as a rail near death from my battle with Crohn's disease, to big as monstrous house while pregnant with twins.
I first became introduced to the world of fitness at Chicago State University after my mother insisted that I sub a Step Aerobics class for an instructor who bailed at the last minute. At that time, I had just begun taking classes myself after having my 4th daughter, and now fifteen years later, I'm still teaching.
Since then, I have gone on to teach fitness classes for Bally Total Fitness, the YMCA, the Health Fitness Corporation, the City Colleges of Chicago, St. Xavier University, the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, and was an original member of the X-Sport Fitness Performance Team, a highly energetic group of diva-like fitness phenoms! Plus, I have even been blessed to teach water fitness and yoga in Jamaica several times for the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resorts and Spas. Currently, I manage the group fitness team for several LA Fitness clubs throughout IL.
I have a dream of showing the world the beauty and benefit of coupling worship into exercise, a unique teaching style that I have that is like no other. I'm excited to see all the ways God is going to use me to help people with their temples.
Fitness is not just a hobby for me. I have earned several certifications for teaching group exercise classes, yoga, Pilates, aqua aerobics, and all kinds of fun stuff in between. I love what I do, and I love inspiring people to develop more active, healthy lifestyles.

I know how it feels to have to take pills for hypertension and other illnesses, not be able to fit anything in your closet, be mad at yourself for making dumb and/or huge mistakes, and just be unhappy with the skin you're in. But all of that can changed by embracing one simple life change to consciously and deliberately challenge yourself.
