Everybody Has a Story: New Purpose, New Beginnings

If there’s one thing I have come to know and appreciate, it’s that everyone DOES have a story.  Some of our stories are fairly ordinary and a few are completely extraordinary.  But even ordinary folks have a story of how they came to be who they are and who they have been.  Some stories are sad, some bittersweet, some joyous.  Most are a combination,  but they all tell how we got to where we are today and what events and people have influenced us.

Many people reach the age of 50, or 60 or 70, and suddenly realize they have more time on their hands or more resources to begin to explore how they want to spend their later years.  For some, it’s a simple process.  They know exactly what they want to do and are just bursting with enthusiasm to get started.  But others of us struggle to find that “passion” that seems to come so easily to some of our friends and acquaintances.

I know people who have discovered or re-discovered interests and goals that keep them busy and engaged in life to the fullest.  For some it’s a hobby or activity that fully engages them.  Some have started new businesses, either from need or just from interest.  Some find volunteering and spiritual growth give their lives new meaning.  Some, like myself, search diligently and struggle to find that meaning, joy and new vitality.  The struggle is part of the process, I’m sure, and I want you to meet these inspiring people and document the paths they have traveled to get to their passion.

I also know I will discover many more people out there who are indulging their new or old passions with glee.  I want to tell you how they got to where they are today and how this reinvented self is living life to the fullest with as much joy and enthusiasm as possible.  In the process I hope to find the inspiration to discover the next chapter of my own personal story and share it with you.  I hope to share resources that have helped me with my search and tellyou why they might be helpful to you.  One of the things I love to do is travel, so while I can’t always afford this passion, I hope to discover some travel adventures aimed at the 50+ group and indulge in daydreams and future planning for my own adventures.

Hope you will join me!
