This Saturday, Elements Contemporary Ballet presents a one-night-only performance with some of their best pieces. One of the most refreshing companies in the city, Elements has a unique philosophy that is based on four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Here's a rundown of the show:
- Curiosity: Premiered by the company last year, this piece delves into curiosity and exploration.
- Great and Small: Last year this was Artistic Director Mike Gosney's work in progress, and this time around it's the official world premiere. Even in its infant stages, it was a powerful piece with an all female cast about earth, nature, and the absence of man. A must-see!
- Haydn: Gosney's tribute to the composer's Cello Concerto No. 1 in C
- Grey: A spiritually inspired piece and an homage to Tchaikovsky's most cherished color.
Tickets are $25, but 25% off at SeeChicagoDance. The show is at 8 p.m. at Athenaeum Theatre. Enjoy!
