Shahs of Sunset Meal: Noon O Kabab

Happy Memorial Day! As the weather is settling in and barbeques are underway, I wanted to share a delicious Persian restaurant that has been the talk of town for awhile. While there may not be many that have been to Noon-O-Kabab as prominently as Reza's (a similar Persian restaurant on Clark); it may occur to you now that I have stirred the pot, to know of this "talk of town" and that it may be more admirable in taste than its predecessor.

Persian or Iranian food has been known for being very filling as the culture serves everybody large portions. Meal time is family time for everyone to gather around and spend time together while devouring tasty dishes. Most of the dishes are centered around large meat on the bone or ground into kababs on skewers and there is always a plate of rice. Noon O Kabab brings to life this culture and tradition with the ambiance of the restaurant and with its variety of grilled meats including lamb, chicken, and even seafood platters. The choice of dill or plain rice is given with your meal, although upon arrival a plate of bread and amazing cheese is mandatorily served (My favorite part!)

A couple things to note: I went during lunch with friends and the portions were a little smaller, but we were still very content with the amount of food that came. So I would definitely recommend going for dinner, the portions are larger and slightly more priced, but there are more exquisite varieties available such as fillet mignon, etc. What we ordered and loved--the Soltani and Lamb Shank. The Soltani includes a combination of Barg and Koubideh which are large skewers of ground sirloin. The kababs come with a plate of rice. The Lamb Shank was soo good, the meat was tender and dripping off the bone in a bowl of tomato garlic sauce. It was like a juicy meat soup with a large piece of lamb cooked just right.

Please go and try a Persian meal this weekend with a large group of friends or family. They will enjoy the experience and definitely keep coming back. Noon-O-Kabab makes their own wines and drinks as well! Below is their convenient location and contact:
