HOT BUNS for Your Hunny

Hey all,

In essence of the most celebrated Hallmark holiday, I wanted to share a recipe for the ladies to try at home. While gift-receiving is no-doubt what we will be doing on the 14th, pulling these buns out of the oven for our sweeties will make them feel a little extra love ...And light that spark in their tummies, bare minimum-ly.

I have been trying to make the ever-famous delicatessens for awhile now and after multiple tries I bring to you the perfect Cinnabon Roll recipe. The ingredients for this recipe are most likely going to be lying around your kitchen, but keep in mind: brown sugar and yeast are a must! Feel free to leave me comments on what worked for you/what didn't and how they turned out !!

xx bon appetit

Ingredients:      makes about: 1 dozen plump rolls

  •  Dough
  1. 1 package yeast (1/4 oz)
  2. 1/2 cup warm water
  3. 1 cup warm milk
  4. 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  5. 1/2 cup butter, melted
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1/2 cup white sugar
  8. 1 teaspoon salt

  • Roll Filling
  1. 1 cup packed brown sugar
  2. 1/4 cup butter, softened
  3. 2 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar or ground cinnamon

  • Spread for Dough
  1. 1/4 cup butter, softened

  • Icing
  1. 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
  2. 1/4 cup butter
  3. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  4. 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  5. A pinch of salt

 Instructions:

  1. Microwave water for 45-60s and dissolve a packet of yeast and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl mix together sugar, butter, eggs, flour and milk. Add in the dissolved yeast mixture.
  3. Dust hands with flour and knead dough together into a large ball.
  4. Put ball of dough into a bowl and cover it to allow dough to rise. Leave in a warm place for 30-45 minutes or until the dough has doubled in size.
  5. Once the dough is ready preheat oven to 350 F
  6. In a new bowl combine roll filling ingredients: brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Mix well.
  7. Cover a flat surface with flour and roll out dough into a  16" x 21" rectangle with a 1/4" thickness.
  8. Spread on the 1/4 cup butter evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon brown sugar filling mixture.
  10. With hands roll dough along the long side neatly so filling is packed inside. Cut ends off and toss. Evenly make 12 cuts for 12 rolls.
  11. Place the rolls into a 11 x 15" glass dish, sprayed with cooking spray.
  12. Bake in preheated oven for 18-20 minutes until the rolls rise and let them golden.
  13. Beat together icing ingredients and spread on rolls when warm, so it melts into the roll.

Serve Warm and Enjoy!!! <3
