Are you excited, New Year’s Eve is here! I have a playbook that you should follow in order to finalize the last few hours of the year. With 2012 being ushered out by its predecessor, 2013, take time to reflect on the good, the bad and ugly (you do not have to do it in that order) of it.
For some of us, 2012 was a great year. For others, it sucked ass.
However 2012 treated you, just be happy that you are here in fairly good health.
The year 2013 is coming fast so end 2012 with a bang, if you can that is. Here are the rules for today.
No New Year’s Resolutions, Please!
It is never good to start the New Year with unnecessary pressure. I understand that you would like to lose weight, and you can do that, but do not bury yourself with the burden. You have 364 other days to get it together. The keyword here is moderation.
Have a Party.
Look, despite the struggles of 2012, you have made it. That is enough reason to celebrate. It is okay for you to go out and go nuts if that is what you feel like doing. If you have some friends, spend the evening with them, if not, there is no shame in getting party streamers for yourself. It is ok to have fun by your lonesome.
Have a Drink.
If you love to take a sip from a nice alcoholic beverage, do so. My suggestions are as follows: Watermelon Long Island, Moscato, Crown Royal with Maple, or regular white wine. Also, drink responsibly.
If you do not drink alcohol (there is no shame in being alcohol-free), have a sip of grape-cranberry juice (for you drinkers, grape-cranberry juice is a good as a chaser or mixed).
If you have consumed too much alcohol, do not drive at all. The buses and trains are going to be a penny tonight. Nobody has to get hurt because WE do not understand that WE may have surpassed our limits. You are free to have as much fun as you want, but again, do it responsibly.
Meet a Stranger.
The beauty of the New Year is going into it with somebody that is new to your life. Smile at a random person today. That person could be a new love interest (always an intriguing possibility), a new friend to play cards with or somebody to laugh at your joke. What to do with them must be mutual.
Make Love, Not War.
Sex is always a good start to the New Year. No one wants to start off 2013 with a fight. If you have a suitable partner, have sex. Maybe you can have sex with the stranger, if they agree to it that is. Either way, unless you are in love or planning on creating a new life in 2013, have sex safely.
Okay, that is the playbook for today. If you follow the gameplan, you will have a great end of the year, and a wonderful start to 2013.
