About

This blog is about how you can transform the world around you by transforming your diet. I realize that many people are killing themselves slowly one bite at a time, including me if I didn't decided to make some drastic changes end of last year. This blog is about my journey and I believe that it is about the journey of so many other people who don't get an opportunity to tell their full stories to the public. Reality is that we can resist change or we can embrace change and even if we embrace change no one says that it will be an easy process. So, what am I changing? Well, I am changing my diet, my body, my thinking and ultimately my life - one bite at a time. How? I am and glad that you asked! I am changing by eliminating my soul food, southern cooking and fast-food eating tendencies full of meat, cheese and tons of carbs to a plant-based, whole food dietary regime - better known as a VEGAN DIET. I also realize that it is what I will refer to as a modern day Daniel Fast. I believe this journey to health and wellness will be a life-transforming one - mind, body & spirit.

Who is the blogger? Well, Michelle J. Miller (that's me) is a woman walking her on path in life & embracing every moment! As single-mother, corporate lawyer, speaker, real estate broker, and new(2012) Chicago Marathon finisher I am determined to live my best life now by making health and wellness choices that lead to a long life. Here's the deal, this soul food loving sistah has decided to "go vegan" or shall I say follow a plant-based diet! What does that mean? How will I do it in this great city of tasty temptations at each corner and a family of food lovers? Here's another catch: I love my curves and I don't want to lose them. I dare not apologize for having no desire to be a size 4. Yeah, I said it - curves rock! However, I want healthy curves so let's get fit in the process. This is the part where it gets very serious....witnessing the impact of cancer, diabetes, high-blood pressure, high-cholestoral and obesity on family & friends I figured it's time, in the words of the late Michael Jackson, to "make that change!" My holistic doctor recently recommended that I go gluten-free & remove sugar - he has high hopes...like the little ant who wanted to move that rubber tree plant (childhood flashback moment of singing & humming). Ok, back to the matter at hand. Lol. Join me in the journey knowing that this is the real deal, no fluff & no pretense. So, buckle your seat belt and take this ride with me.

Here's to all of you who want to eat better, go vegan and struggle (or not) through the process. To each of you I say - You are not alone! If I can do it, one day at a time that is, you can do it too! Join me on the journey of OUR life time.

    Michelle J. Miller

I am determined to live my best life now by making health and wellness choices that will lead to a long life. As a single-mom, lawyer, author, speaker, managing real estate broker, speaker, marathon finisher and global visionary with an active christian lifestyle who enjoys volunteering for numerous activities life gets very busy. I realize that I am usually the last item on my to-do list, if I get on it at all. I know some of you know what I mean. Well it's time to put first things first - me! I have seen and I continue to see the impact of cancer, diabetes, high-blood pressure, high-cholesterol and diabetes on family, friends and people in general. I know that I want to live a long and abundant life so I figured it was time, in the words of the late Michael Jackson, to "make that change!" So, this soul food loving sistah has decided to "go vegan" or shall I say follow a plant-based diet! How will I do it in this city of tasty temptations at each corner and a family of food lovers like myself. Well, the plan has been and will be to do it one day at a time. This is definitely a journey, a challenging one for me, that will take me on the ride of my life. I could take the ride alone, but there's no need to that when I have all of you. So, join me on this plant-based journey.
