Geja’s Cafe: Romantic, Local, Vegetarian and Gluten-Free
You wouldn’t think of a fondue restaurant as a place that might have allergy-free options but thankfully Geja’s Cafe does. The staff is very accustomed to serving gluten-free diners. Although Gejas does advise that diners mention their dietary restriction upon making the reservation or when first seated. Vegetarian (but not vegan) diners can savor cheese... Read more »

Cleansing Confessions

Cleansing Confessions
I’m starting a 28-day cleanse later this month. I’m sort of acting as a guinea pig. If it goes well (maybe “well” isn’t the right word but is effective) I will be teaching this program with Dr. Castillo of Alliance Chiropractic. Fall is an excellent time to cleanse. There are no more festivals, BBQs and all... Read more »

When You're a Foodie With Food Poisoning

I had a different post in mind for today’s blog but I’m recovering from food poisoning. I will keep the gory details to myself. Being really sick can sure make you humble. Now that I’m recovering I’m so grateful for every little bite of solid food, every breath and every step. Right now I’m gaining... Read more »

How to Stay Cool!

This tip requires a spoon. Okay this tip is fun. Eat sorbet, allergy-free ice creams and treats. I just covered a review on Living Harvest Tempts Ice Cream Bars. Chicagoans can enjoy Anthony's Italian Ice and Annette's near the Armitage Brown line. One of my favorite treats is an orange sorbet with a bit of chocolate sauce or hot fudge.
I know you are already “cool” but how about not sweating your you-know-what off. So here are my tips to keep you comfortably cool:

My Review of LH Tempt Ice Cream Bars

My Review of LH Tempt Ice Cream Bars
Summer is a difficult time for those of us who avoid dairy. Ice cream is literally everywhere except in my own hands. I’ve been a long time purchaser of Living Harvest products and I’m grateful that their ice creams are both soy and dairy free. I was excited to see Tempt Bars at my neighborhood... Read more »
