Movie Makeovers That Messed Me Up

The Oscars got me thinking about movie makeovers that messed with my self-esteem (well sort of). I admit I love the idea of transformation. At many times in my life I have suffered from "magical thinking". For example thinking if I dyed my hair another color I would get that great guy. In movies "magical thinking" really sells. I'll admit I'm being hypocritical as I'm not completely 100% natural. I dye most of my grays, wear makeup, wax various parts of my body, etc. I love being a woman. I love to express myself through clothes and makeup. I think looking your best is fine if it is self-motivated and you are a person also motivated to work on your inside. In fact one of my favorite people is Dolly Parton. She obviously does not embrace the natural look but Dolly is 100% Dolly. Ultimately, we want to be loved for who we are and not for our highlighted hair. Advertisers and movie makers do not want us to believe that we are good enough just as we are; just like my favorite non-makeover movie Bridget Jones's Diary. Just think if for one day everyone really believed that. I'm guessing not a lot of money would be made that day. Here's my take on some popular movie makeovers:
