Summer may be winding down, but cycling in the Chicago area certainly is not!
This weekend's weather promises to be ideal for riding and there are a number of organized events to choose from. Here's a list, courtesy of our friends at the chainlink:

Saturday, September 8th: Cystic Fibrosis Cycle For Life, Peck Farms in Geneva, 8am, Kidical Mass Camping Extravaganza, Illinois Beach State Park, Zion, 65 Miles for Jerry, Maple Park, 7am, Cross Cometh Women's Cyclocross Clinic, Humboldt Park Boathouse, 9am, Open Streets - Loop, 10am to 3pm, Patriot Cross Race, Rantoul, 10am, The Rider's Cup, Heritage Bicycles, 4pm

Saturday, September 15th - Science Spins Ride. Join my friends at On The Route Bicycles and Trek Bicycles on Michigan Avenue on a ride to the Museum of Science and Industry for a sneak preview of the new bicycle exhibit. The ride has two options - a 30-mile ride from the museum to Hollywood and back beginning at 2pm or a ride from Monroe Harbor to the museum beginning at 3:30pm. To participate, please contact Lori Watson at the MSI.
My apologies for taking the last two weeks off to pursue my paid vocation - selling bikes - as well as some much needed R&R on a bike camping tour in Wisconsin. I will return next week with more cutting edge cycling commentary...
Keep riding and be safe!
