Three-time Tour de France Champion Alberto Contador has been found guilty of using a banned substance during the TDF in 2010. He has been banned from racing for the next two years and stripped of his wins in the 2010 Tour de France and the 2011 Giro d'Italia.
This was some very shocking news to wake up to on a Monday morning. Even more surprising was that someone had already gone in and updated this information on Wikipedia!
I had to carefully re-read the decision of the UCI (International governing body for bicycle racing) in a news story breaking on Cycling News. Strangely, none of my American cycling sources had this story up on their sites, but the Chicago Tribune did.
As this is a breaking story, I will add my commentary in an update later today. Stay tuned!
