Whadahyawannaknow? 2012 Hyundai Veloster

Per usual, when I swapped into the 2012 Hyundai Veloster, I asked my Tweeps: Any questions? Two of my followers came back with: What’s the view out the rear like? I don’t think it’s that bad–certainly not as bad as the new Land Rover Evoque, and probably about on par with the Toyota Prius. The... Read more »

Today's ... Rant? Hyundai Veloster B-pillar
So, being on the shorter side of life, this isn’t something I’ve ever considered. And, I have to admit, it kind of blew my mind a little bit. But I picked a friend up for lunch yesterday, and he’s on the taller, bigger side of life. Even before he got into the front passenger seat,... Read more »

2012 Hyundai Veloster

I need to start by saying pictures do not do this car justice. The 2012 Hyundai Veloster might just be the most creative and attractive vehicle I’ve driven this year. From ride and handling to engine output, the Veloster far exceeded any expectation I had for a car with a base price of $17,300. I... Read more »

Hyundai Veloster, Jupiter Lily & @GirlintheTrunk

I recently had the opportunity to spend time with the all-new 2012 Hyundai Veloster. While I can’t tell you what I think of driving the Veloster until Sept. 19 (darn embargo), I can tell you about the trunk space. Keeping up with @GirlintheTrunk, we decided to see how well I fit. And, since we were... Read more »

Hyundai Veloster: Score 1 for the third door

Ok, this is officially funny. Supposedly this is a banned Dutch ad. If so, I can kind of see why. Still made me laugh out loud. You? Score one for the third door. Bonus points: can you name the first car shown in the spot?

A shot of the setup for the DriveChicago radio show in the Audi display … complete with live audience. Since the Chicago Auto Show ended, I’ve been religiously checking the WLS website to see if the podcast for the show I did with DriveChicago host, Paul Brian, and co-guests Tom Appel of Consumer Guide and... Chicago Auto Show: Must-see production cars

Hybrids are so yesterday. Today's eco-friendly is all about electric. The Leaf has already been launched in select markets and begins rolling out to the rest of the country soon--though it'll probably be 2012 before we see them sold in Chicago. Base price is $33,720, but after the tax rebate, you'll be paying about $26K. This will be a great Chicago commuter car with a range of 100 miles on a single charge. For many of us that means never having to fill up at a gas station again.
One of the great things about the 2011 Chicago Auto Show is that it isn’t all just shiny happy concept cars. Yeah, they’re cool and all, but the real guts of any show are the cars you can actually own. Well, there’s no disappointment at McCormick Place, as this year’s show has some great cars... 5 cars Chicago should watch

2012 Chevrolet Sonic The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is currently underway in Detroit, and while the news coming out of this year’s auto spectacle was a bit light, there are 5 cars Chicago should care about: the 2012 Buick Verano, the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, the 2012 Hyundai Veloster, the Honda Civic Concept and...
