Photo gallery: 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata

During our first bout of really nice weather last week, I had the chance to drive the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Talk about perfect timing. The tester was a Club model that was equipped with a 167-horsepower, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. That’s a lot of fun packed into a small package.... Read more »

Photo Gallery: 2012 Chrysler 200 Convertible

When I drove the 2011 Chrysler 200 Sedan, I didn’t not like it. (And, yes, the double negative was on purpose.) Which, I have to admit, was a bit of a surprise after the “to-do” at the Detroit News. That’s not to say the car was perfect, but it definitely wasn’t “a dog.” And it... Read more »

Honest one-word answer: No. And it’s not because it isn’t a great car. It’s not because of the price (which is a bit steep at $58K for the Limited Edition model).... Read more »

Mazda MX-5 is a great summer cruiser

I just finished a week in the Mazda MX-5, and it’s such a peppy, fun little vehicle. I had the power hard top version, which goes up and down in about 10 seconds with the push of a button. And, while I didn’t get quite the number of gawkers that I had while driving the... Read more »

The perfect time to drive a convertible in Chicago

You might think I’m kidding, but I’m not. Especially if that convertible is the all-new 2010 Audi A5. With quattro. When this little beaut showed up in my parking spot, I think something along the lines of “Aw sh**” popped into my head. But when I looked at the back and saw the quattro label,... Read more »
