A chance to see the Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo concept in Chicago

A chance to see the Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo concept in Chicago
Draped in a subtly refreshed livery with retro roots, Volkswagen’s ID BUZZ CARGO concept vehicle is going coast to coast with Nike to give running communities and onlookers a glimpse at the electrified future of Volkswagen commercial vehicles, and a chance to learn about the history of Blue Ribbon Sports and Nike’s beginnings.

On the cusp of the Chicago Marathon, Volkswagen teams up with Nike to create a pop-up event in Chicago to showcase VW's electrified future -- and recycle old running shoes.

This isn't the first time the shoemaker and automaker have been seen together. When Nike -- then Blue Ribbon Sports -- first opened its doors 53 years ago, it used a VW Type 2 Bus as its delivery vehicle. So, the ID Buzz Cargo you'll see will resemble that first delivery vehicle.

For a chance to see this vehicle outside of an auto show, be sure to stop by North Avenue Beach today from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

And don't forget your old running shoes! Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program gives old running shoes new life by converting them into materials that create running tracks, playing turf surfaces and other athletic gear.
