This Chevrolet Equinox commercial made me cry. Will it sell cars?

Usually when you put a cute puppy in a commercial, any commercial, it's guaranteed to make you coo and awww. It'll leave you with warm fuzzies about the commercial and the brand. But this new Chevrolet Equinox commercial made me cry. I don't know about you, but I'm not sure that's the emotion they should evoke when trying to sell cars.

What do you think? Is this a good idea or a bad one? And, if I didn't tell you what this commercial was for, would you have gotten beyond the dog?

PS: I'm still sniffling.

  • In that the car isn't seen until :44, probably more effective for Petco or the dog food that has blue berries in it. The tagline also tries to imply that the Chevy is a better best friend, but doesn't pull it off.
