Weekend to-do: Lincoln Motor Co.'s #OffTheMenu Tour

Like cars? Like to eat? How about combining the two with Lincoln Motor Co.'s "Off the Menu" test drive.

This weekend, Lincoln Motor Co. has partnered with 3 area restaurants where you can take a test drive in the Lincoln MKZ or the MKX, and then get a complimentary "off the menu" appetizer when you dine at the restaurant afterward.

The test locations options include:

  • Thursday, Sept. 12: RockIt Bar & Grill, 22 West Hubbard St. Chicago, IL 60654 - 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 13: EPIC Restaurant, 112 West Hubbard St. Chicago, IL 60654 - 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.  to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 15: Sunda Restaurant, 110 W. Illinois St., Chicago, IL 60654 - 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 16: Sunda Restaurant, 110 W. Illinois St., Chicago, IL 60654 - 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Simply click on the restaurant link above for more information and to RSVP for a test time.

If you haven't looked at a Lincoln lately, this is a no-hassle way to do it -- and you get free food.

Lincoln often gets a bump rap for being an older brand, but it's much younger than you think. Personally, I can't wait to get behind of wheel of the MKZ tonight at RockIt. I sat at it during the Chicago Auto Show and fell in love with the futuristic gauges and super sleek styling.

So, RSVP now to get some seat time ... And maybe I'll see  you there!

  • I still think it isn't that it is an old brand, but that you are driving Ford Fusions or Edges that cost $5,000 more than the Fords in deluxe trim and offer no more cachet. At least GM differentiates a Cadillac from a Chevy. (I don't know about a Buick Encore based on a Chevy Sonic, but at least the literature indicates that Chevy is not selling the Trax CUV variant here.)

Is the rumored Lincoln small car going to be any different from a Ford Focus or Escape?
