Backseat of the Honda Civic Si Coupe

Backseat of the Honda Civic Si Coupe

I don't know that this is a rant or a rave. It just is. But the backseat of the Honda Civic Si Coupe  is not made for passengers on the taller side of the scale. We were doing a quick hop down the street for lunch, and I piled my co-workers in the backseat on the premise that they'd be Instagrammed. As you can see, they fit, but not too comfortably. One co-worker is 6'2'', and he did fit. But I should tell you it wasn't easy getting back there (see the Vine below), and  he was sitting behind a 5-foot-tall driver. So, there was plenty of leg room ... if not nearly enough head room.

The Si is a fun car, but with a 6-speed manual transmission it's not quite a city car. Especially with all those Chicago stop signs and the perpetual construction on the Kennedy. And, if you want this car, you should probably plan to have only the occasional backseat passengers.

  • You didn't indicate if you had a shotgun passenger, in which seat the 6'2" one would usually go.

The one in the middle looks about your size, which would raise the question of what the Ciminillo rating of the back seat is. Not to mention the trunk. Also, not to mention that you aren't from Car & Driver, which was on a "protect the stick" kick.
