2014 Kia Forte: A few of my favorite things

Kia never ceases to amaze me. With every car that I drive of theirs, I like them just a little bit more. In fact, I have to say they are quickly becoming one of my favorite automakers. The all-new 2014 Forte is a perfect example of why. Here we have a very good Chicago car that bases at $15,900, and it comes with a smooth ride, excellent warranty and attractive styling. If you don't need a lot of whistles and bells (or an automatic transmission), you'll do well with a basic Forte.

But here's the great part: If you want the navigation and the heated seats and a little more besides, it's nice to know you don't have to give up your first-born child to get it. The Forte tester was a top-of-the-line EX ($19,400), and it added both the premium and technology packages for an as-tested price of $25,515. Sure, that might seem like a bit much for a (gasp) Kia. But with everything it includes, you'll be hard pressed to find a better vehicle for a better price.

While I didn't love the mic clarity with the hands-free phone pairing, there was a lot I did love about the all-new Forte. Here are just a few of my favorite things ...
