Today's Rant: Jaguar XF needle wobble

While I was driving the 2012 Jaguar XF, one of my tweeps asked me if there was anything I didn't like about the luxury car. I really had to think about that because I LOVED this car. Loved it. So, when it came down to it, there were 2 things that aren't necessarily a big deal but really bothered me in a car that's pushing $70K.

The first is a little squeak I couldn't quite place. It could have been the roof. It could have been how the window fit in the rear door. It didn't happen all the time, which made it even more annoying.

The second is the needle wobble on the speedometer and tachometer. And, I'm not talking about small little skitter. It's a big wobble. I would catch it out of the corner of my eye, and once I caught the shimmy. I couldn't look away. Deal breaker? Probably not. Disappointing? Definitely. Want to see how wobbly the wobble is? • For that money, it should have electronic instrumentation, but what can one expect of an Indian company assembling cars in England? It probably would be more distracting having a digit instrument flipping 1180, 1210, 1190, 1240....

Also, I don't know that it works that the previous "is the interior cheap" video loads as part of this one. There should be a difference between a $20,000 and $70,000 car.
