Chicago Auto Show: Let them make cake ... and party!

Tonight is the First Look for Charity Preview at the Chicago Auto Show. This preview kicks off the public opportunity to view the show with a black-tie gala and $250 tickets. While the ticket is a bit pricey, the cause is worthwhile--18 area charities will receive a portion of the proceeds.

In addition to the chance to win a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Turbo or a 2011 Honda CR-Z, attendees will have the chance to see (and taste!?) extravagant cake creations from Bleeding Heart Bakery, Roeser's Bakery and TipsyCake as they participate in the "Cadillac of Cakes" competition.
Jill's tips for navigating tonight:
  • Get there early for the best parking ... or take a cab!
  • If you manage to park in Lot A -- park on the 4th floor. That's where the inside access to McCormick Place is located.
  • Be sure to stop just in side the doors of the North or South Halls to get a glass of champagne.
  • Keep your ticket handy for the car giveaway.
  • If you want to visit a test track (Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler), do that first. Lines will get long.
  • The sushi food stations are always hidden and busy, so find this food station first.
  • Cars you must see: Toyota Prius c Concept, Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, Chrysler 200, Audi TT RS, Nissan GT-R Black.
