For 2011, Lincoln launches its first hybrid: the midsize MKZ. While my driving impressions are embargoed until Sept. 8, there are a couple of key facts I can tell you about this car:
- The hybrid and gasoline models are priced exactly the same at $35,180.
- Fuel economy is estimated at 41 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
- You should be able to drive up to 700 miles on a single tank of gas.
- Total output, combined gasoline and electric motor, is 191 horsepower.
- You can drive in electric-only mode up to 47 mph. (In case you didn't know that beats other hybrids by about 25 mph.)
- The key competitor is the Lexus HS 250.
So, until I can post a link to my full review. Check out the photos I took today while we were out and about in the MKZ Hybrid.
