So, everyone seems to be focused on the fact that Toyota has recalled more than 8M vehicles in the last month. Granted that is a big deal, but it seems that a lot of other manufacturers are using this time to slip some recalls in under the media's radar.
Who, you might ask? Here's what I could find since Jan. 1 ... including a new recall released just today.
January 19: Chrysler recalls 24,000 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles due to a
faulty part that could cause brake failure. Affected models: 2010
Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Avenger, Jeep Liberty, Dodge Nitro, Jeep
Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Ram; 2009 Dodge Ram. Call

January 29: American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 600K Fits (2007-2008 model year) worldwide because of the driver's master power-window switch, which can overheat and cause a fire.
February 12: American Honda Motor Co. is recalling almost 400K vehicles to replace the driver's airbag inflator, which could deploy with too much pressure and cause injury. Affected models: 2001 and 2002 Accord, Civic, Odyssey, CR-V, and selected 2002 Acura TL. For more information, Honda owners can call 800-999-1009 and Acura owners can call 800-382-2238.
February 26: Suzuki and Nissan are recalling more than 500,000 vehicles, but only in Japan. This is due to faulty parts related to air conditioning that can cause a fire. Nissan will recall about 2,000 vehicles outside of Japan, but it has not been indicated that any of these recalls pertain to the U.S.
March 1: Mazda has recalled 12,300 2010 CX-9s due to a seat heater circuit that could overheat, causing burn damage to the seat. Call 800-222-5500 for more information.
March 1: Honda is recalling 21,776 2005 Honda Odysseys due to a problem with the power liftgate. Call 800-999-1009 for more information.
March 2: Hyundai issued a recall for (get this) 515 2010 Hyundai Tucsons because front passengers weighing more than 240 pounds could cause the airbag warning lamp to illuminate and will not deactivate even if a lighter person or child sits in this position. Call
March 2: General Motors recalls 1.3M Chevrolet Cobalts (2005 - 2010) and Pontiac G5s (2007 - 2010) because of a faulty power steering system. For more information, call 800-222-1020.
